6. Installation Engineering



ISB Engineering was initially formed to provide engineering service to the offshore installation contractors. Although ISB has grown as a general offshore engineering company, the installation engineering constitutes a major part of ISB activities. The installation engineering can be categorized as follows :


6.1 Pipelines

Although many other engineering disciplines have since been added to ISB’s range of engineering services, subsea pipelines still constitute a major part of ISB’s activities. Primary emphasis has always been on pipeline design and installation technologies, needed by most clients for a cost effective completion and operations of pipeline systems in all environments. ISB has designed and analyzed pipelines for various cost effective installation methods; surface tow method, control depth tow method, bottom tow method, conventional installation using Lay-barge method, to name a few.



  • Pipelines installation Engineering includes the following:

Backed by state of the art software tools, ISB is capable of undertaking fully coupled, multi-body time domain numerical simulations of pipeline installation. Analysis can be carried out in quasi-static and dynamic modes. With advanced knowledge of floating bodies, fluid mechanics and line dynamics, ISB is capable of assisting Installation Contractors to perform pipeline installation design of deepwater and shallow water operations.
